FAQs
Using KALCRET castable compound, GAC creates a completely jointless lining that eliminates adhesive joints—the weakest point in conventional lining systems. The result is a monolithic protective layer that provides exceptional durability against severe wear.
Steel is not always the best solution.
In areas exposed to high-velocity material flow, severe abrasion, or aggressive chemical environments, non-metallic materials such as engineering ceramics, cast basalt, wear-resistant castable compounds, or engineering plastics can provide significantly longer service life while reducing maintenance costs.
The optimal material depends on multiple factors, including the type of conveyed material, flow velocity, operating temperature, mechanical loading, and the working environment. Rather than automatically specifying steel for every application, Gia Anh performs a comprehensive evaluation before recommending the most suitable solution.
Gia Anh evaluates the wear mechanism, chemical environment, operating temperature, and the adhesion characteristics of the conveyed material before selecting the appropriate non-metallic solution.
Yes. Combining different non-metallic materials according to the specific operating conditions of each area provides better performance and longer service life.
They are commonly used in silos, hoppers, and chutes to reduce friction and improve material flow, preventing ratholing and other flow problems.
Non-metallic materials are recommended in applications involving severe chemical corrosion, where extremely low friction or superior anti-stick performance is required.
ABRESIST cast basalt is ideal for sliding abrasion applications such as ash or wet slag handling. It provides a smooth surface and can withstand temperatures up to 350°C. KALOCER ceramic offers higher hardness (9 on the Mohs scale) and heat resistance up to 1,000°C, making it the preferred choice for severe erosion areas such as cyclones and classifier blades.
GAC uses TIVAR® 88-2 ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE), which features an extremely low coefficient of friction (0.08) and zero moisture absorption. It converts material flow into true mass flow, eliminating blockages without the need for hammering that can damage the silo structure.
This occurs because epoxy adhesive has limited heat resistance (approximately 80°C) and offers virtually no wear resistance. Under high-velocity material flow, the adhesive joints erode first, creating gaps that cause entire ceramic sections to detach even though the ceramic itself has not yet worn out.
