FAQs
GAC backs its turnkey, monolithic Kalcret BTX/BTY supply-and-installation projects with a formal 24-to-36-month performance warranty. We guarantee that the lined pipes will not experience blowouts, mortar cracking, or fine dust leaks throughout the contracted operational cycle.
GAC performs quality audits using three methods: measuring lining thickness with ultrasonic gauges, conducting acoustic hammer-strike tests with a copper hammer to detect internal voids/air pockets, and casting beam samples on-site to verify actual 28-day compressive strength.
Abresist Fused Cast Basalt has a maximum continuous operating temperature limit of 350°C. Therefore, it cannot be used to line 450°C hot air ducts. Hot air ducts require Kalcret BTX castables (resisting up to 1,200°C) or Kalcor fused corundum-zirconia tiles (resisting up to 1,000°C).
Yes. At Vĩnh Tân 2 Thermal Power Plant, the system of 36 three-way coal splitters feeding the boilers suffered from severe, chronic steel wear and dust leakage. GAC re-engineered and cast these splitters with a 25mm monolithic layer of Kalcret BTX compound over an anchored steel mesh. The retrofitted splitters have remained operational, dry, and leak-free.
The internal steel casing of pipelines must be grit-blasted or mechanically ground to achieve a white-metal finish conforming to the SA 2.5 standard. Following blasting, GAC welds a 5mm expanded steel mesh at a precise 5mm clearance from the steel backing plate using high-strength anchoring pins.
Kalcret is a rapid-setting mortar powered by high-density nano-cements. If left uncured, moisture evaporates too quickly in hot boiler-room environments, triggering surface shrinkage cracks and reducing the lining’s final compressive strength by 30%. Spraying Kalcure forms a moisture-retention barrier, ensuring uniform hydration.
ASTM C704 is the international standard test method for measuring the erosion resistance of materials under high-pressure grit-blasting. GAC’s Kalcret BTX achieves an erosion volume loss of under 3.2 cm³ (certified by independent laboratory testing), demonstrating aerodynamic wear resistance 4 to 5 times superior to standard wear castables.
GAC welds threaded studs directly to the steel hopper wall, and the Tivar sheets are pre-drilled with countersunk recesses. Once locknuts are tightened using specialized spanners, the cavities are sealed with matching Tivar plugs flush-cut to the lining surface, leaving no protruding bolt heads to obstruct coal flow.
Tivar 88-2 features an extremely low dynamic friction coefficient (0.08) and near-zero water absorption (<0.1%). Its permanently glass-smooth surface prevents wet coal from bonding to the hopper walls. Cohesive coal slides down seamlessly, establishing an uninterrupted Mass Flow discharge profile.
High-moisture fine coal has high cohesive surface tension. When contacting hoppers lined with standard carbon steel, moisture induces rusting and pitting. The rough scale-covered steel anchors the wet coal, causing bridging (Arching) or rat-holing, which chokes coal feed to the pulverizer and drops boiler generating capacity.
GAC clads the leading edges of fan impellers with ultra-thin, 10mm-thick Kalocer high-alumina tiles bonded with heat-resistant Kalfix adhesives. Its extreme hardness (1,050 HV1) shields the blades from fly ash erosion. The glass-smooth surface and low density of Kalocer preserve dynamic balance, maintain draft capacity, and extend fan wear life by 3 to 4 times.
ID fans draw high volumes of hot flue gas containing abrasive fly ash that sandblasts the fan blade leading edges. Conventional weld hardfacing overlays create a rough, uneven profile that degrades aerodynamic efficiency, increases drag, and introduces static and dynamic imbalances, causing severe boiler vibrations.
